Description
History is everywhere! The entry door of the historical Forty Fort Meetinghouse in the Forty Fort cemetery, by the dike along the Susquehanna River. “Forty Fort was named for a Revolutionary War era fort that the town's original settlers built; there were forty settlers. “ ~ fortyfortmeetinghouse.org. Puritan-style architecture with simple, symmetrical design, clapboard siding.
The meeting house was the first completed church used for religious services in the area. Enjoying a peaceful stroll during the early Spring season in the mountains of PA, in the Wyoming Valley of Luzerne County in NEPA. The meeting house is on the National Register of Historic Places.
