A panoramic view of Public Square, downtown Wilkes-Barre, PA. Viewpoint: at the Bicentennial Building looking mainly East, with your back to the Susquehanna River, only a couple of streets away. North Main Street starts near the left end of this photo, East Market Street starts near the right (to the left of the highrise).
This was taken early August, after a rainstorm during the weekly farmer�s market. There is a band-shell in the foreground where varied performances take place, even room for seating or dancing in the sunken area. Local produce is sold around most of the perimeter of the Square, as well as some food vendors.
