Artist's Description
The Luzerne County Courthouse in Wilkes-Barre, PA, is an impressive structure, built approximately 1906-1909 in a classic revival style. It is in the National Register of Historic Places. I added an appropriate patriotic quote by former president Calvin Coolidge, good for any patriotic or legal occasion.
I would have liked to use the quote by Ronald Reagan, �I know that for America there will always be a bright dawn ahead,� looking toward a bright future for this county, which got national attention when corruption in local leadership was exposed: the FBI and IRS investigated judges and businessman in �kids for cash scandal�. The voters later adopted a home rule charter, the current governing body.
The original photo was taken early Spring, 2013, when I was struck by the overlapping interplay of patterns and textures between the structure, tree limbs and clouds.
