Artist's Description

This is one of the many photographs of the city of Wilkes-Barre, PA, from the Susquehanna River. There’s enough greenery, to complement the man-made structures of the downtown which is nestled in the Wyoming Valley of NEPA (NorthEast Pennsylvania). You see the Luzerne County courthouse dome beyond the railroad bridge and River St bridge beyond. The coal industry helped this region, and now there are 2 university campuses downtown. A beautiful Spring day!
(Wikipedia) Wilkes-Barre and the surrounding Wyoming Valley are framed by the Pocono Mountains to the east, the Endless Mountains to the west, and the Lehigh Valley to the south. The Susquehanna River flows through the center of the valley and defines the northwestern border of the city. Wilkes-Barre was founded in 1769 and formally incorporated in 1806.
