Description
The bread is a loaf that I sliced into and found a heart-shaped air pocket baked inside. I actually see another tiny heart to the right. It got me to stop a moment, and reflect, thinking of all the little moments of love and faith evident every day, whether we see them or not.
Todays daily Gospel reading is MK 6:34-44, when Jesus says the blessing, and the loaves and fishes were multiplied to feed the multitudes. An act of love, faith, whether were Catholic, Christian, or not. This got me into a feel-good frame of mind. I hope it does for you also.
Today also happens to be the Epiphany. Epiphany celebrates the visit of the three wise men to the Christ Child, signifying the extension of salvation to the Gentiles. The date of Epiphany, one of the oldest Christian feasts, is January 6, the 12th day after Christmas. In many countries, including the United States, the celebration of Epiphany is transferred to the Sunday that falls between Jan 2 & Jan 8 In other countries including a few in Europe, it is celebrated today.
