A proud, flower, beaming with energy and vibrant color. This is a macro closeup of a coneflower. You can see the bits of pollen that havbe fallen onto the petals. There are tiny curls in between the tall spikes, and with a bit of imagination, looks almost like a person’s permanent, hair teased into a prominent coif. OR it’s a huge muff-top hat. OR the petals are a full wide, flowing skirt, spreading out as you twirl around.
The generic name Echinacea is rooted in the Greek word ἐχῖνος (echinos), meaning hedgehog,[8] it references the spiky appearance and feel of the flower heads.
