Cranes are a common sight in the field farming areas of the Slavonia region of Croatia in Europe. This painting was inspired by a photo that my niece took while on a recent trip to that area. I've seen their nests in the towns, often, also. See the painting progress and details at: http://www.behance.net/christina.v
I put a touch of whimsy in this by adding 2 building construction cranes in the background which I found is sometimes also a common sight.
NOTE: the FineArt America watermark will nOT be on purchased items. It's only seen online.

I love this painting and I didn't know it was an award winner! It is so good, I love it! I saw a TV special about Croatia and saw the cranes nesting on every available building. It was intriquing! Very nice job depicting this unusual scene. f/l

Thank you so much, Janette! I saw them in many places there, usually in the smaller towns.
