Description
Greetings! I was inspired to draw this image in the pointillist style in ink on paper. The church site is a focal point in Medjugorje that gives people a starting point to start to feel free to pray, and experience that Mediterranean climate and the energy of the faith of their fellow humans, high up in the mountains of Bosnia I Hercegovina, in Europe. Medju means between gorje means mountains, in Croatian. Saint James church was built decades before the apparitions started, at that time it was too large for the area, surrounded by fields and crops. Now its not big enough for the multitudes that go there from around the world; many have gone there with all kinds of backgrounds including Jewish and Native American, and Muslim. There is a view of Mt Krizevac in the background, and a peace dove at the top, the Holy Spirit. Grapes and vines (a chief crop in that region) are untertwined with a Croatian style troplet at the edges (often shown in the colors of the flag, red, white, blue.)
Ive been to the Croatian Catholic parish of Medjugorje in Bosnia Hercegovina, Europe, many times, first as a skeptic, then seeing the true honest faith of the people (even back when it was part of the former Yugoslavia before the people were able to fight for freedom from communism), as well as how the experience of being in a place where the focus is growing towards God in Faith through Jesus affected me, I returned as a guide and translator with our familys Mir-Peace group and was able to grow in faith. facebook.com/MirPeaceGroup . It is also such a beautiful region!
